We’re excited to be participating in NADA Foreland 2023 with new work by Beverly Acha and Ruby Jackson.

Beverly Acha, misterios del universo (las violetas de mami II) [mysteries of the universe (mom’s violets II)], 2023, oil on linen, 67 x 59 in.

Longtime friends who met in Williamstown, MA, Acha and Jackson are concurrently creating visually distinct bodies of new work. Acha’s paintings investigate the psychological experience of place, light, and color, and feature abstract motifs that evoke the handheld maze games and Möbius strips of her childhood. Jackson’s ceramic and found material sculptures imagine future paths her life might take, integrating lived experience and fantastical projection.

Ruby Jackson, If (Farm), 2023, glazed ceramic, paper pulp, garlic skins and found fabric, 13 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 8 in.

Ruby Jackson, If (Fashion), 2023, glazed and unglazed ceramic, found terrycloth, ribbon, 6 1/2 x 12 x 11 1/2 in.
